Stars Over Asheville: Our Quilt Program to Support Hurricane Relief

Quilty friends, we’ve got some exciting news here at 5 Little Monkeys Quilt Shop! After riding out Hurricane Helene and seeing firsthand the resilience of our community, we felt inspired to harness our collective quilting power for good. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce Stars Over Asheville, our new quilt program dedicated to helping those in need in Asheville, North Carolina, following the storm.

Why “Stars Over Asheville”?

We believe in the power of coming together - especially when times get tough. The name Stars Over Asheville symbolizes a guiding light in the darkness and a reminder that hope and creativity can shine brightest when challenges arise. Nothing, not even a hurricane, can keep this quilting community down for long! Over the past few weeks, we’ve been blown away by the generosity and compassion quilters have shown. You’ve reached out with donations, offered to stitch up comforting quilts, and asked about how you can help. We feel so lucky to be a part of this big-hearted community, and Stars Over Asheville is our way of making sure your kindness goes exactly where it’s needed most.

What Can You Expect?

• A Gorgeous Quilt Pattern + Education: We have unveiled a brand-new pattern that’s simple enough for beginners yet exciting for seasoned quilters. To sweeten the pot, Angie has put together five instructional videos to teach you how to use the new Quilters Select Rulers that are use to make the quilt.
• Direct Impact: Proceeds and donated quilts will go directly toward relief efforts through Beloved Asheville, ensuring families affected by Hurricane Helene feel the warmth of our quilting hugs.

How to Sign Up

Follow the steps below to be part of this historic program at 5 Little Monkeys:

1. Purchase a Fabric Bundle - We have put together fabric bundles, along with a number of other shops. Pick out the perfect one from 5 Little Monkeys or any of the shops listed below. Keep in mind you will NOT receive a pattern with your fabric, that comes in step 3!
2. Get Your Rulers - This quilt uses the new Quilters Select 60 Degree Ruler and Twin 60 Degree ruler set. Grab your rulers from us or that shop you get your fabrics from!
3. Sign Up For Class – Last step…sign up for class! This is how you will get your pattern and learn how to make your quilt. Angie will be releasing a video each week, for 5 weeks, to walk you through all the details. Proceeds from the class will also be donated to Beloved Asheville!
