Led by expert instructors Donna Farrow and Rachel Davis (hat) and Brandy Clements from Silver River Chairs (broom), this beginner-friendly class packs double the creativity into one epic adventure. Templates, traditional piecing, and appliqué make the hat a breeze—and all broom supplies are included. Perfect for Halloween costume prep or just embracing your witchy side!

If hat class finishes early, broom class starts early.

This pattern uses templates, is traditionally pieced, has applique embellishments, and is beginner level.

Quilted Witch’s Hat supply list:


Main Hat Fabric 1 yard (1.25 yards if using directional fabric)
Hat Lining Fabric 1 yard (1.25 yards if using directional fabric)
Thread to match your fabric
Contrasting thread to quilt your fabric
Sewing machine 
Basic sewing supplies
Open toe foot for your machine or walking foot with guide
Cutting ruler

Then for the broom class: 

This part will be taught by the amazing Brandy Clements from Silver River Chairs

Moderate hand/shoulder strength required

Pants and proper shoes - no flip flops. We will be using our feet as well as our hands and shoes need to stay attached to feet without effort 

Long sleeves and an antihistamine may be appreciated too. Broom corn is a grass/a form of sorghum and can make you sneeze and possibly itch.
