English Paper Piecing

Learn English Paper Piecing with this larger Dresden Plate design with dimensional inserts.  You will learn a fast gluing technique for the edges of individual pieces before hand sewing pieces together.  Choose 1 of 26 designs to piece from the book Distinctive Dresdens by Katja Marek.  Learn a machine applique method to attach your finished Dresden Plate design to a background fabric to make a cushion, placemats, or small and large wall-hangings.  Other methods and patterns for English Paper Piecing will be discussed as well as fast techniques to prepare pattern pieces. 5-6 Fat Quarters in a color scheme or topic theme such as Tula Pink, traditional, geometric, modern or batik fabrics.  

1 fat quarter that is a solid color or reads solid to coordinate with other fat quarters.

½ yard background fabric for finished block

Quilter’s Select Print and Piece Fuse Lite – available in the shop

1 8” x 10” sheet of Freezer Paper
