Quilter's Academy Vol 2 - Sophomore Year

Quilter's Academy is a "learn to quilt" the right way classes for novice or "it's been a long time" quilter's. Using Harriet and Carrie Hargrove's Quilter's Academy Vol 2 book, quilt top making is presented in an organized, skill building journey that allows you to complete quality quilt tops to be proud of. Teacher NancyLynn Sharpless will guide you through Vol 2 - Sophmore year with a study of diagonal set blocks, sashing and their unique borders. There will be serious homework. Fabric selection will happen at your convenience before class day.

-your copy of Quilter's Academy Vol 2 book*

-solid and print parts/fabric from Freshman class

-1/2 yard background fabric (light or white)

-cutting board (18 x 24 minimum)

-45mm rotary cutter with sharp blade

-Cutting templates 6 1/2 x 6 1/2", 6 1/2 x 24 1/2", 12 1/2 x 12 1/2" or larger*

-sewing machine, power cord, and foot pedal

-90/14 quilting machine needles

-flathead (flower) pins

-1/4" seam guide (optional)

-small, sharp, pointed scissors

-50 or 60 weight thread

-3 x 3 Post-It notes

-small notepad, pencil, pen, highlighter

-your sewing machine manual

5 Little Monkeys Quilt & Sew will make every effort to fill each class. If there are less than 4 students signed up for a class, we may need to cancel the class. You will be notified 3 days before the scheduled class date if cancellation is necessary. If the class is canceled, each student will automatically be issued store credit for the price of the class that can be used on any future purchase. Class no shows and absence in multiple sessions classes are non-refundable.
