Preparation Class: Tuesday Evening October 10th 5 - 6:30 PM
Saturday, October 14th - Bottom. 8 AM - 4:30 PM
Saturday, October 21st - Top. 8 AM - 4:30 PM
Can I just take the Bottom Class and the Prep Class? Yes. You can just make some cool bottoms to wear with your own cozy tops. Or you can sign up for both classes and create a chic set!
The Bottoms Only Class is $75.00
Both Top and Bottom is $100.00
These pajamas are designed for you to channel your inner Katherine Hepburn! Great for lounging or hanging at home in style. We’ll use your basic sewing skills as well as teach you a few new things: a faux fly, a notched collar, and a simple interfaced front button placket. Plus, we take time in the Preparation Class on 10/10 to make sure you get a good adjusted fit in the waist and crotch. These jammies make up beautifully in lightweight cotton lawn (Angie has a lovely selection!) or they can be fashioned from cozy cotton flannel in time for fall and winter snuggles. You will succeed in class if you have a working knowledge of basic sewing skills such as measurement, seams, pinning, ironing and laughing!
If you’ve taken a class from me in the past you know that I have tons of fun spending time finding the fabric that works with your body, your hair color and your skin tone. If you hate choosing fabric because you’re ‘just not sure’ then this is your place! The collective wisdom of the class will help you select the perfect fabric for the effect you’re looking for.
The Prep Class: Do NOT Bring Your Sewing Machine. You WILL need your PJ Pattern, available at 5LM. Bring a tape measure and something for taking notes. In class we will discuss and help you finalize the following:
Pattern Review and Your Measurements
Fabric and Thread Selections
Fabric Length Requirements - We will adjust if your fabric has directionality
Interfacing Requirements
Button Choices
The Homework will be to prewash, straighten and iron your fabric before class on Saturday, October 14th.
The Saturday Bottoms Class: Arrive with your machine tuned and ready to go … but don’t set it up until after we cut our fabric.
