Cathedral Window Quilt

Tuesday May 30 6-8 pm

This quilt is half machine made and half hand sewn.  It is a great take along project for the road, beach, mountains, or chilling on the couch with a movie.  This is a batting and binding less quilt.

The base of the quilt is a large square, folded, sewn, turned inside out, folded again and sewn together.  Sounds confusing; but believe me it is not!

The spot of color comes from scrap pieces.  Make your quilt 2 colors (base and tiny square), many colors in true scrap quilt fashion or go off the grid and do something completely different.  Think black base with white, yellow squares.

The class will involve the use of a sewing machine.  Sewing the large squares can be done by hand; but I prefer to get this step done quickly and move on to the color stuff.

We will learn the entire process from start to finish.  We will sew the folded squares together, add the color square and do the origami style sewing to make the individual cathedral window.
