The Beatle Bag Workshop

Date/Time: Tuesday, April 30, 2019 from 10 am till 5 pm

Skill Level: Confident Beginner

Join Carrie for a fun day making the Beatle Bag - it's a great roll up bag to hold all your sewing supplies, small projects, make-up, jewelry, etc. The pattern includes 4 heavy duty inserts with zip closures. On the inside are two pockets big enough to hold full size scissors and rotary cutter. It also has a detachable pin cushion to put by your sewing machine.
Come sew it up, fill it up, roll it up and off you go!
There is homework for this class - all pieces on page 1 of the pattern need to be cut out and the quilting on the bag body outside and inside (page 2) need to be done before arriving the morning of class.

Instructor: Carrie Licatovich

Materials:
  • The Beatle Bag Pattern by Abbey Lane Quilts (includes 4 bag inserts)
  • Pattern calls for 1 fat quarter for the outside, one fat quarter for the inside and 5/8 yard of the accent fabric. If you have fabric you will want to fussy cut, you'll need 1/2 yard cuts instead of fat quarters for the outside and inside, also stripes are adorable for the accent fabric - you'll need a yard if you want to make bias binding.
  • 5/8" sew-on velcro - 1/2 yard
  • Soft and Stable - 1/2 yard
  • 1/4" Double sided fusible webbing
  • 2 metal ring
  • Coordinating threads
  • Filling for Pin Cushion (Carrie used wool batting instead of walnut shells due to weight)
  • Safety pins
  • Clover wonder clips
  • Purple Thang or metal stiletto
  • Sewline Fabric Pencil (color appropriate for your fabric) or other removable fabric marking pen
  • Sewing Machine, thread to match and contrast your fabric, rotary cutter, small cutting mat, rulers, good strong pins as well as sharper more delicate pins, extra sewing machine needles
  • Knee Lift for your machine if you have one
  • Karen Kay Buckley larger dark blue handled scissors
  • Several safety pins
  • Bring all your extra material, left over soft and stable, etc.
